SUNRISE SENIOR LIVING WINS PRESTIGIOUS AWARD IN THE RUN UP TO THE ‘PROPERTY OLYMPICS’
At last there’s some good news for the UK property market! Amid all the doom and gloom hitting the headlines in recent months, the results of the Daily Mail UK Property Awards 2008 have just been revealed. These awards are linked to the world’s largest and most prestigious property competition and a number of this year’s UK winners will be chosen to represent the UK at the finals in the USA this November.
Entries were judged by a panel of independent professionals, chaired by Eric Pickles, British Shadow Secretary of State. Their collective knowledge of the property industry is second to none and unsurpassed by any other property awards. Sunrise Senior Living is delighted to announce that it has won awards in the category of Best Retirement Development for both the recently-opened Sunrise of Weybridge and Sunrise of Beaconsfield, which is still under construction. The award will be presented at a glittering gala dinner to be held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on 31st October.
Award winning assisted living services
Over the last 26 years Sunrise Senior Living has won many awards in America, and the success has continued here in the UK. Frognal House in Sidcup, Kent was the first development to be completed in the UK and received top honours in the Special Care category at the Pinders/This Caring Business Healthcare Design Awards in 2000. Since then Sunrise has gone on to win awards at the Daily Telegraph What House? Awards, the Your New Home Awards and New Homes Garden Awards.
This success continued in 2007 with Sunrise Senior Living being recognised for Outstanding Achievement in Design at the Caring Business & Pinders Awards.

Following Westbourne’s success at the YNH awards for 2006, Sunrise of Cardiff received the award for the Best Assisted Living Development at the 2007 ceremony. Stewart Andersen from the judging panel said that “The main factor in this category was to find a development where the residents received extra care without limiting their sense of independence. Every Sunrise has a separate secure area devoted to the special needs of seniors who are experiencing memory loss through Alzheimer's or other conditions. While many projects provide comfort and security, the judges felt that Sunrise of Cardiff, with its emphasis on helping residents in need of additional support was the obvious winner.”

Sunrise of Chorleywood won accolades not only at the What House? Awards in 2007, but also at the New Homes Gardens Awards in the same year. Sunrise collected both a Gold Award and the prestigious Landscape of the Year Award.
