When assessing a potential site, the depth of the market will be investigated and a number of demographic requirements need to be satisfied, including a population of at least 50,000 households within a 5 mile radius.

Sunrise Senior Living operates at the top-end of the market offering premium quality care homes for seniors. As such suitable sites will be in thriving, affluent areas where mature professional and managerial people are likely to live in large houses. Generally the local neighbourhood is likely to comprise of large, detached houses with average property values ideally exceeding £500,000.

Site criteria

  • Preferred sites are easily accessible and located on a main road
  • In or near to a quality residential neighbourhood
  • At least an acre in size, preferably larger
  • Ideally the site should be close to, but not necessarily within, walking distance of shops, a church, and schools
  • Refurbishment/extension of an existing property will also be considered.
