2008 is the fifth year of the New Homes Garden Awards, a ground breaking initiative when they were launched and now, five years on, highly regarded and sought after accolades recognised by house builders, garden designers, landscapers and landscape architects as the 'Golden Globes' of outdoor space and new home development. The New Homes Garden Awards seek to raise the quality and standard of the outdoor space around new homes. They are a sought after symbol of excellence, creativity, environmental responsibility and total customer care.

SUNRISE SENIOR LIVING WINS PRESTIGIOUS AWARD IN THE RUN UP TO THE ‘PROPERTY OLYMPICS’

At last there’s some good news for the UK property market! Amid all the doom and gloom hitting the headlines in recent months, the results of the Daily Mail UK Property Awards 2008 have just been revealed. These awards are linked to the world’s largest and most prestigious property competition and a number of this year’s UK winners will be chosen to represent the UK at the finals in the USA this November.

Entries were judged by a panel of independent professionals, chaired by Eric Pickles, British Shadow Secretary of State. Their collective knowledge of the property industry is second to none and unsurpassed by any other property awards. Sunrise Senior Living is delighted to announce that it has won awards in the category of Best Retirement Development for both the recently-opened Sunrise of Weybridge and Sunrise of Beaconsfield, which is still under construction. Sunrise of Eastbourne Opens to Residents
Opening its doors in March 2008, Sunrise of Eastbourne is the 19th UK community. Formally a garden centre and a petrol station, this site is in an accessible location on the busy A22, Willingdon Road, the main road from Eastbourne to London. Planning permission was negotiated for a 60,945sq ft (5652 sq m) building and the home can provide accommodation and care for up to 88 residents.

Construction at Winchester and Sevenoaks gets underway
Construction started at Sunrise of Winchester (Hampshire) and Sunrise of Sevenoaks (Kent) in June, with openings scheduled for Spring 2010. These two will mark the 27th and 28th communities to be developed in the UK.
