Winchester, Hampshire

The 1.9 acre site was formally occupied by three large detached houses and is located on a main road in an established residential area of Winchester. Planning permission for the 64,704 sq ft (6,011 sq m) building was obtained via appeal in January 2008. Construction started in June 2008 and now completed, the community is able to provide accommodation for up to 97 residents

Sevenoaks, Kent

The site is situated just off a busy main road and was formally occupied by four detached properties. Planning permission was obtained for his 62,990 sq ft (5,852 sq m) building at appeal. The whole site measures 1.92 acres and construction started in June 2008. Now completed, the community is able to provide accommodation and care for up to 94 residents.

Hale Barns,
Manchester

Construction on the latest South Manchester development in Hale Barns began in December 2007. The site, which was previously occupied by a redundant care home, opened in April 2009, and provides 81 units for the care of up to 93 residents. The community enjoys a high visibility location on the Hale Road, ensuring easy accessibility for both visitors and staff.

Knowle, West Midlands

Planning permission was secured through negotiation in June 2007, for two separate buildings on the prominent, 2.4 acre site on Warwick Road, just off Junction 5 of the M42. This community provides care for up to 113 residents, including nursing care in a High Needs neighbourhood. Construction began in December 2007 and the community opened in March 2009.
Bagshot, Surrey

This 1.65 acre site is located on the busy A30 London Road in Bagshot, the site was previously a night club and restaurant. Sunrise was granted planning consent by the local authority in July 2007. Construction started on this 63,500 sq ft building in November 2007 and the community opened in February 2009. Now open, this community provides care for up to 92 residents in 79 units.

Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire

Set in 1.55 acres, Sunrise of Beaconsfield is the 21st Sunrise to open in the UK, providing care for 89 residents over 3 floors. The site was previously occupied by 3 large detached properties and planning permission for the community was secured in May 2007. Having taken 16 months to build, Sunrise of Beaconsfield opened in January 2009 and is situated between the Old Town and the New Town.

Sonning, Berkshire

Set in 2.3 acres, Sunrise of Sonning accommodates for 94 residents over 3 floors and boasts a luxurious interior typical of a Sunrise community. Situated on the busy A4 road, next to the Rugby club, the site was previously occupied by 2 large detached properties.

Bramhall, Manchester

Sunrise of Bramhall represented the 20th UK development and the 2nd to be open in the North West of England. Previously the County Hotel, planning for the redevelopment of the site was obtained at Committee in February 2007 and the site has been transformed into a high-quality care home that can accommodate up to 97 residents. Set over 2 and 2.5 storeys, the building took 16months to complete and boasts an excellent garden and new, more contemporary interiors.

Eastbourne, Sunrise’s 19th UK community, opened in March 2008. Formally a garden centre and a petrol station, this site is in an accessible location on the busy A22, Willingdon Road, the main road from Eastbourne to London. Planning permission was negotiated for a 60,945sq ft (5652 sq m) building and the home can provide accommodation and care for up to 88 residents.

Weybridge,

Planning permission for this 64,099sq ft (5967 sq m) building was secured at appeal. The 1.8 acre site is in a very prominent location on Ellesmere Road, Weybridge. The site was formally occupied by 4 substantial detached properties. Construction work started in September 2006 , the homeopened in February 2008 and can provide care for up to 110 residents.
Southbourne,

Sunrise of Southbourne is located just a short walk away from the sea front on Bell Vue Road and the 1.78 acre site was previously occupied by a 50 bedroom hotel and Christian conference centre. Planning permission was granted in July 2006 following the Planning Officer’s recommendation for consent and a unanimous approval of this recommendation by the committee. The community opened just 17 months later in December 2007 and provides accommodation for 102 residents.
Tettenhall, West Midlands

Set in a previously unoccupied 2.4 acre site adjacent to an existing nursing home, Tettenhall opened in October 2007 to provide care for up to 89 residents. Planning permission for a home of 61,226 sq ft, set over 2 floors, was secured through negotiation for the development on Wergs Road.
Cardiff, South Glamorgan

A 2.2 acre site in the heart of Cyn-Coed, a lovely area close to the centre of Cardiff, Sunrise started construction in December 2005 on its first development in Wales. Sunrise of Cardiff opened in May 2007, and can care for up to 99 residents in the usual Sunrise luxury. The home is approximately 67500 sq ft. and is designed to fit the topography of the sloping site.

On a 2 acre site formally occupied by six family houses, Three Rivers B.C. granted planning consent for a new Sunrise Assisted Living home of 69,100 sq ft (6420 sq m) in 2005. The home can care for approximately 100 residents in 87 suites in a luxurious interior typical of Sunrise homes. Construction work to started late in 2005, and the community opened in April 2007.
Solihull, West Midlands

Sunrise started construction in December 2005 on its new home in Solihull on a 2.4 acre site, adjacent to a proposed business park, on the site of the former TRW centre. The home opened in spring 2007 and can provide care for up to 86 residents in a 61,500 sq ft home.

Planning permission was negotiated for a new Sunrise home on the site of a former nursing home at Barclay park, Mobberley in Cheshire. The home of 70,400 sq ft (6540 sq m) can provide care for up to 110 residents and is set in a beautiful 6 acre site, adjacent to a Grade II listed building. Construction started in August 2005 and the home opened in December 2006.

The 55,100sq ft (5120 sq m) community is located on highly visible junction of the A3 and can provide care for up to 80 residents. Construction started in March 2005 and the community opened to residents in June 2006.

A highly visible 1.5 acre site on Poole Road, Westbourne. Previously a motor dealership, planning permission was obtained in 11 weeks for a for a 73,000sq ft (6782 sq m) building which can provide care for up to 105 residents.

Elstree,

A disused former nursing home situated within the Greenbelt, which no longer met with registration standards. Working with the charity which owned the three acre site, Sunrise have developed a 50,000sq ft care home. Our Elstree home opened in January 2003 and provides care for up to 74 residents.

Formerly a pub, this 0.92 acres (0.37 hectares) site is situated adjacent to Virginia Water station. Redeveloped to provide 58,000sq ft of accommodation over four floors, although due to the sloping nature of the site, it is only a two-storey facade to the main road. Sunrise cares for up to 86 residents in Virginia Water. Opened in May 2002.

In Sidcup, Kent, we have restored a 30,000sq ft (2782sq m) Grade II* Georgian building, to provide Independent Living, plus an additional 60,000sq ft (5564 sq m) has been built to provide Assisted Living and Reminiscence accommodation in a safe and welcoming environment . Frognal House cares for up to 140 residents, and has been open since November 1999.
