Councillor Anne Filer, Mayor of Bournemouth (2007 - 2008)
"The Sunrise home in Southbourne has had a significant impact on our ability to meet the need for high-quality elderly care in Bournemouth. Sunrise's 'assisted-living' model has set a benchmark for local care provision, not only in terms of the excellent standard of care provided, but in terms of design quality and integration with the community." |

Chris Perry, CEO of Age Concern Hampshire
"Assisted Living, of the type provided by Sunrise, offers a very real alternative for many people, particularly as they are also able to provide accommodation for people with late onset Alzheimer’s. Having seen the high specification of their developments I am delighted that they propose further developments in Hampshire." |

Councillor Victor Eldridge Mayor of Elmbridge (2006/07)
'I am very impressed with the quality of accommodation and exceptional standards of care that Sunrise has brought to Esher - the home is a positive addition to the area, helping to alleviate the widespread need for care and accommodation for frail elderly people, particularly those with Alzheimer's. I am delighted that the building will provide local residents with the chance to stay in the same area and not have to face a move to a home further afield - and that couples can stay together. Sunrise's home is a high-quality residence - both inside and out. I was delighted to attend the opening and see the completed community for myself.' |

Councillor Peggy Broadhead Mayor of Runnymede Borough Council
'With the Sunrise Assisted Living home in Virginia Water having been open for some 12 months, I felt it appropriate to tell you how absolutely delighted the community is with it, both in terms of the building's superior design quality but also how it has integrated so well into our local area. As you know we have a high incidence of bed blocking in Virginia Water and we were in desperate need of this facility, in particular the wonderful services it offers to Alzheimer's sufferers - a feature that, I understand, has impressed Age Concern considerably. I sincerely hope other communities have the opportunity to benefit from the high quality of care offered by Sunrise Living the way we have benefited in Virginia Water.' Alistair Cochrane, Chief Officer Age Concern Runnymede
'Sunrise's facilities in Virginia Water are first class and provide a congenial and safe environment for many of our older people. In my opinion, their provision of Alzheimer and dementia care could not be any better. As a philosophy of care, Sunrise Assisted Living's home meets and even exceeds the standards of best practice and excellence expected by Age Concern in the area. |

Councillor Stuart Nagler Mayor of Hertsmere Borough Council
'Sunrise is certainly fulfilling a need in Elstree. We have a serious problem with bed blocking in the Borough and therefore quality provision in elegant and attractive surroundings that supports older people as they enter the next stage of their lives cannot be more highly commended. Our priority in granting planning consent for the home - given that it was a Green Belt site - was that the design had to be of the highest quality. Sunrise has achieved this and produced a first class development. |
